The purpose of this Invitation for Bids (IFB) is to: Seek bids from responsive and responsible licensed abatement contractors for selective building abatement and disposal of hazardous materials at Magna Elementary School. Contractor shall furnish all labor, material, and equipment to perform the work as indicated on the Drawings and in accordance with Bid Documents, including General and Supplemental Conditions of the Construction Contract, and other documents as provided for the performance of this Work. Time is of the essence. Abatement Contractor shall plan work to commence on the interior of the facility at the east end of the work area and proceed to the west. Abatement shall be coordinated with the General Contractor to precede demolition and construction activities and allow all work to proceed in a timely manner, allowing for required clearances and waiting periods. Abatement Contractor shall coordinate with General Contractor regarding extent of removal of glazing materials and limit removal to those exhibiting deterioration, flaking, or signs of poor adhesion. Glazing debris on the ground around the perimeter of the building shall be properly bagged and disposed of along with other abatement waste. Magna Elementary School 8500 W 3100 S Magna, Utah 84044 Work shall include, but is not limited to: o Abatement of floor tile and mastic, carpet and mastic, and removal of wood, carpet, or rubber base on walls in classrooms and other locations as indicated on the Overall Demolition Plan - AD110. Rooms excluded from abatement include: 1. Rooms 26 through 32 (north wing). 2. Administrative Office and associated spaces. 3. Any floor areas shown in gray on the plan. o Abatement of window glazing exhibiting deterioration, flaking, or signs of poor adhesion. Contractor shall provide an estimated quantity of those materials in their base bid in location indicated on Bid Form. o Abatement of window glazing debris around building. o Removal and disposal of all hazardous materials off-site to approved landfills. o Providing copies of all manifests, records, and closeout documents for Owner's records.
