Scope of Work 1. Assessment and Removal o Safely disconnect and remove the existing hot water heater unit. o Perform a full inspection of the current exhaust vent flue to confirm the extent of deterioration and code compliance issues. 2. Exhaust Vent Flue Replacement o Remove all deteriorated or non-code-compliant sections of the existing flue. o Install a new, properly sized Type B double-wall vent or an equivalent flue system in compliance with current local building and mechanical codes. o Ensure proper clearance from combustible materials and secure all vent connections to prevent backdrafting. 3. Water Heater Replacement o Supply and install a new hot water heater of equivalent capacity and energy type (gas/electric) unless otherwise specified by the owner. o Ensure the unit meets all current code requirements and energy efficiency standards (e.g., Energy Star rated if applicable). 4. Connections and Testing o Reconnect cold water supply and hot water outlet piping using approved fittings. o Connect gas or electrical lines to the new unit as per manufacturer instructions and code. o Install or reconfigure Temperature and Pressure Relief (TPR) valve and discharge piping. o Test the unit for proper operation, check for leaks, and verify proper exhaust draft. 5. Permits and Inspections o Obtain all required permits prior to commencement of work. Schedule and pass all required inspections from local building authorities.
