Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Pocatello, Idaho. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; for paving for a road / highway; sidewalk / parking lot; and sidewalk / parking lot.
The Project includes the following Work: The City of Pocatello has secured funding for a project which includes constructing sidewalk, curb and gutter, bulb outs, and rectangular rapid flashing beacons (RRFB) in front of Greenacres Elementary School on the corner of E Oak Street and Hyde Ave. The project scope includes the removal and disposal of portions of the existing asphalt roadway and Greenacres Elementary parking lot, removal and disposal of portions of the existing sidewalk, forming/pouring of new sidewalk, bulb out, curb ramp, driveways, curb, gutter, and asphalt patch back per plan. Each curb ramp must be inspected by city staff before asphalt patch back is complete. Existing inlets will be removed and new inlets installed at the new curb line and connected to the existing storm sewer pipes. The scope includes installing RRFB assemblies, signs, and pavement markings for the pedestrian crossings. Contractor is also responsible for traffic control through the duration of the project and must adhere to the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD). Pedestrian access must be maintained through the project site at all times. Bids are requested for the following Contract: E Oak Street Child Pedestrian Safety Improvement Project. The Project has an expected duration of 37 days. For all further requirements regarding bid submittal, qualifications, procedures, and contract award, refer to the Instructions to Bidders that are included in the Bidding Documents. Prospective Bidders may obtain or examine the Bidding Documents at the Issuing Office on Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:00am to 5:00pm, and may obtain copies of the Bidding Documents from the Issuing Office as described below. Partial sets of Bidding Documents will not be available from the Issuing Office. Neither Owner nor Engineer will be responsible for full or partial sets of Bidding Documents, including addenda, if any, obtained from sources other than the Issuing Office. Bids must be accompanied by Bid Security in the form of a bid bond, certified check, or cashier's check in the amount of 5% of the amount of the bid proposal. Said bid security shall be forfeited to the City of Pocatello as liquidated damages should the successful bidder fail to enter into contract in accordance with their proposal as specified in the Instructions to Bidders. The City of Pocatello reserves the right to reject any or all proposals, waive any nonmaterial irregularities in the bids received, and to accept the proposal deemed most advantageous to the best interest of the City of Pocatello. Section 3, minority - and women - owned businesses are especially encouraged to apply, as are businesses located within the City's municipal boundaries.The City of Pocatello offers a preference for documented Section 3 businesses or individuals on this project. Forms for certification as a Section 3 business or individual can be obtained by calling 208-234-6186. After Thursday, May 8th, 2025, at 12:00 noon local time, no more questions will be received and no further addenda will be issued.
