The scope of this project includes, but is not limited to, the following: Demolition, site work, new construction and renovation of an educational facility. As of May 12, 2025, a general contractor has not yet been selected for this project, but all bids have been submitted and are currently under review. A firm construction timeline for this project has not yet been released. Interim Housing Infrastructure and Modernization of Existing Buildings with related site work. Three Phases: 1. Phase 1 now ; 2. Increment 1 now ; 3. Increment 2 forthcoming In future bid. Phase 1 (PRIORITY) relates to the Interim Housing: Demo and placement of modular buildings. Increment 1 includes Interior & Exterior finishes refresh of all existing (5) buildings on campus for preschool and kindergarten. Includes security and fire alarm upgrades, HVAC, and site improvements. Start Date: 1. Phase 1 - June 6, 2025; 2. Increment 1 - September 1, 2025; Increment 2 TBD Subcontractor must be registered with the DIR and able to meet Skilled & Trained Workforce Requirements prior to submitting a proposal. Prevailing Wage is REQUIRED Wage Determination Date 2025-02. IMPORTANT Subcontractors planning to submit a bid on the project must be registered with the DIR prior to submitting a project proposal. Pursuant to Labor Code section 1771.1. (a) A contractor or subcontractor shall not be qualified to bid on, be listed in a bid proposal, subject to the requirements of Section 4104 of the Public Contract Code, or engage in the performance of any contract for public work, as defined in this chapter, unless currently registered and qualified to perform public work pursuant to Section 1725.5. It is not a violation of this section for an unregistered contractor to submit a bid that is authorized by Section 7029.1 of the Business and Professions Code or by Section 10164 or 20103.5 of the Public Contract Code, provided the contractor is registered to perform public work pursuant to Section 1725.5 at the time the contract is awarded. In accordance with Education Code section 17407.5, Subcontractors must use a skilled and trained workforce to perform all work on the Project that falls within an apprenticeable occupation in the building and construction trades. For the duration of the contract, the Contractor and its subcontractors must provide the District a monthly report demonstrating that they are in compliance with the skilled workforce requirements set forth in Education Code section 17407.5 Lusardi Construction Company shall in no way be held responsible for any fines or penalties incurred by any subcontractor bidding without being registered with DIR. Lusardi Construction Company reserves the right to reject any quotes, bids, or proposals if the subcontractor is not registered with DIR or their registration has expired at the time of bidding.
