This is a service / maintenance or supply contract in Carlsbad, California. Contact the soliciting agency for additional information.
The Library is seeking self-service, materials handling, and RFID solutions that will include tags, hardware, software, installation, project management, staff training, management software, and on-going support and maintenance from one or more suppliers The Library relies heavily on AMH. The advantage of AMH systems is that the entire workflow associated with the patron induction is transitioned from a staff mediated process to a self-service process. A core component of this automation process is the Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) system used for physical material management. RFID provides a single system for efficiently checking in, checking out, and securing library material. The Library’s technical environment seeks to support its mission by fostering integrated discovery and delivery across all collections of the library. The Library currently uses SirsiDynix Symphony as its core integrated library automation system. The primary means of resource sharing and delivery is through the SirsiDynix Enterprise discovery service and Link+ interlibrary loan service DOVE LIBRARY • Six (6) Self-Check Kiosks, each with the following integrated components: o Credit Card Terminals o Cash Terminals o Receipt Printers o Touch-screen monitors w/ onscreen keyboard option o Integrated barcode scanners for patron library card number input • One (1) 11-Bin Automated Material Handling system o Two (2) Patron Induction Portals w/ Receipt Printers and touch-screen monitors (patron interface) o One (1) Staff Induction Portal w/ a holds label printer (one side adhesive) • Three (3) Security Pedestals (One (1) building access point) • One (1) Library Digital Assistant (Inventory Wand) • Ten (10) Staff RFID Stations COLE LIBRARY • Four (4) Self-Check Kiosks, each with the following integrated components: o Credit Card Terminals o Cash Terminals o Receipt Printers o Touch-screen monitors w/ onscreen keyboard option o Integrated barcode scanners for patron library card number input • One (1) 7-Bin Automated Material Handling system o One (1) Patron Induction Portal w/ Receipt Printer and touch-screen monitor (patron interface) o One (1) Staff Induction Portal w/ a holds label printer (one side adhesive) • Six (6) Security Pedestals (2 building access points) • One (1) Library Digital Assistant (Inventory Wand) • Three (3) Staff RFID Stations LEARNING CENTER • One (1) Self-Check Kiosk, each with the following integrated components: o Credit Card Terminal o Cash Terminal o Receipt Printer o Touch-screen monitors w/ onscreen keyboard option o Integrated barcode scanner for patron library card number input • Zero (0) Automated Material Handling system • Three (3) Security Pedestals (1 building access point) • One (1) Library Digital Assistant (Inventory Wand) • Four (4) Staff RFID Stations The City requests that the selected vendor complete the scope of work by February 2026.
