The work consists of furnishing all labor, equipment, and materials and performing all work in strict accordance with the plans and specifications for: RUNWAY AND TAXIWAY PAVEMENT REHABILITATION The location of the work is at the Jimmy Carter Regional Airport, Americus, Georgia. A Bidder's bond must be executed on the form furnished by the Owner, and the required bond, cash, cashier's check, or certified check must accompany each proposal, in the amount of 5% of the total amount of the proposal. A 100% performance bond and a 100% payment bond will be required of the Contractor at time of contract execution. A Georgia Resident Agent must countersign all bonds from a surety company authorized by law to do businessin this State pursuant to a current certificate of authority to transactsurety business by the Commissioner ofInsurance; no bond shall be approved unlessthe surety is on the United States Department of Treasury's list of approved bond sureties. All work under Bid Schedule A (Runway 5-23 Pavement Rehabilitation) shall be completed within FortyFive (45) Calendar Days from the issuance of the notice to proceed. Maximum time for Runway 5-23 closure shall be Thirty (30) Calendar Days. Liquidated damagesfor additional days of runway closure shall apply. Contract time for Bid Schedule B (Parallel Taxiway Pavement Rehabilitation) is Seventy-Five (75) Calendar Days from the issuance of the notice to proceed. The maximum construction time allowed for Schedules A and B will be the sum of the time allowed for individual schedules but not more than One Hundred Twenty (120) Calendar Days. Permitting the Contractor to continue and finish the work or any part of it after the time fixed for its completion, or after the date to which the time for completion may have been extended, will in no way operate as a wavier on the part of the Owner of any of its rights under the contract. If Additive Bid No. 1 (New Connector Taxiway) is awarded an additional Fifteen (15) Calendar Days of contract time will be added to the overall schedule. If Additive Bid No. 2 (Runway 10-28 Displaced Threshold) is awarded an additional Five (5) Calendar Days of contract time will be added to the overall schedule. Liquidated Damages: Liquidated damagesfor delaysin completion will be Five Hundred Dollars($500.00) per calendar day. Liquidated Damages for exceeding runway closure time will be Two Thousand Dollars ($2,000.00) per calendar day. Payment will be made monthly on completed work. Retainage will be held by the Owner to a maximum of ten percent (10%) of each progress payment.
