Renovation of an educational facility in Storrs Mansfield, Connecticut. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.
Husky Village Exterior & HVAC Refurbishments - Building E Husky Village Building E - replacement of roof, siding, windows, and HVAC equipment. Work expected to include new HVAC equipment in attic and basement, new controls, added return ductwork and related ceiling work. COST PROPOSAL: Submit a Cost Proposal utilizing the Form provided. No substitution of the Form is permitted.. PROJECT SCHEDULE/DURATION: o Construction is planned to start: October 15, 2025 o Construction Duration: 16 weeks All Requests for Information ("RFI") questions are to be posted under the Q&A Board Tab in the HuskyBuy sourcing event for this Solicitation. Question Deadline 08/19/2025 at 2:00 PM ET Bid Security: Provide a copy of a Bid Bond made out in the penal sum of ten percent (10%) of the Total Bid Amount. In lieu of a Bid Bond, a Certified Check in the amount of ten percent (10%) of the Total Bid Amount is acceptable. A Bid Bond is only required for any Total Bid Amount over $50,000.00. A Total Bid Amount of $50,000.00 or less does not require a Bid Bond. SET-ASIDE REQUIREMENTS: The Set-Aside Requirement for this Project is that (1) not less than thirty percent (30%) of the Total Contract Price be awarded to subcontractors who are certified by the Connecticut Department of Administrative Services as "Small Business Enterprises" ("SBEs") and (2) not less than ten percent (10%) of the Total Contract Price be awarded to subcontractors who are certified by the Connecticut Department of Administrative Services as "Minority Business Enterprises" ("MBEs") (the 10% set aside for MBEs may be included in the 30% set aside for SBEs). If the Contractor is an S/MBE, then any self-performed work may be included in the Set-Aside Requirement. The Contractor is responsible for ensuring that they, and the S/MBEs they have selected, are eligible Connecticut-certified S/MBE contractors. LIQUIDATED DAMAGES: Liquidated Damages of Five Hundred Dollars and 00/100 ($500.00) per calendar day shall be assessed if the Contractor fails to achieve Substantial Completion or causes delay to the Substantial Completion of any portion of the work within the Contract Time. The University reserves the right to modify the contract or waive any informality as it deems to be in the best interest of the University. The Work of Project is defined by the Contract Documents and consists of the following: Architectural: 1. Removal and replacement of existing asphalt shingles, gutters, downspouts and other roof accessories. 2. Removal and replacement of deteriorated roof deckings, sheathing and wood blocking. 3. Removal and replacement of flashings, fasciae, and other trim metal work as details and specified. 4. Removal of existing siding and replacement with new cellular composite siding, to include all flashing, soffits and trim. 5. Removal of existing windows and provision and installation of new fiberglass window units. 6. Removal of existing doors and frames as detailed and replacement with new FRP doors and frames, including new hardware. 7. Offsite disposal of all removed materials. Electrical: 1. Electrical modifications to existing distribution to accommodate the HVAC upgrades. Mechanical Work: 1. Remove existing condensing units and associated air handlers 2. Remove existing refrigerant piping 3. Remove existing HVAC controls 4. Remove existing supply air outlets 5. Provide new condensing units and associated air handlers 6. Provide new refrigerant piping . Provide new HVAC controls with connection to the Campus network 8. Provide new supply outlet with built in modulating damper and an access panel in ceiling 9. Provide return in space and associated return ductwork in space and in hallways back to the unit 10. New thermostats in the rooms 11. Connect outside air to the return ductwork of each individual air handler
