Site work for a civil project in Longwood, Florida. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway.
As of August 8, 2025, project was awarded to Earthscapes Unlimited Inc., awarded amount is $679,581.26. This contract comprises the repair of an existing irrigation system and installation of landscaping. Construction must be performed by a FDOT prequalified Landscape Contractor or an experienced qualified contractor that has specific expertise and experience in the performance of Roadway Landscape projects. All construction and installation must be consistent with and meet all criteria and limitations of Rule 14.40.030, Florida Administrative Code. The project includes, but is not limited to, the following items of work 1.) In general, the City of Longwood is undertaking landscaping and irrigation improvements within the SR 434 medians from Rangeline Road to Roberts Street. The work includes repair and re-establishment of the existing irrigation system so it can be utilized for the establishment period. Landscaping includes the removal of existing landscaping, unless otherwise noted in the plans, and the planting of new small and large plants, ground cover and mulch. The contractor will be responsible for providing maintenance of traffic (MOT) in accordance with FDOT requirements. 2.) A 12-month establishment period starting on the date of final completion acceptance by the city is to be included. 3.) The project plans do not show the existing irrigation system. The existing system is in general good working order, but does need repairs. The city will provide two (2) separate days and times for bidding contractors to meet with city staff and inspect the existing irrigation system. The inspection will include operation of each of the zones and an opportunity to ask questions regarding the irrigation system.
