Notice is hereby given that the La Plata County (LPC) Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) is seeking bids from qualified Contractors for an asphalt overlay of 2.6 miles of roadway on County Road 501 from the southern intersection with Forest Service Road 603 (dam road) to the intersection of Cool Water Road (refer to the Bid Sheet for actual bid quantities). Paving shall be the full length of roadway one (1x) lift of asphalt paving, two inches (2") thick. Paving extents that terminate at existing paving shall be keyed into existing pavement. The existing road width is twenty-four feet (24') with variable width gravel shoulders. Shoulders shall be reconstructed. Final and interim lane marking/striping are to be included. Traffic control will consist of single-lane traffic and include a pilot car. Temporary centerline striping is to be completed at the end of each working day. ThisProjectincludesthree (3) alternate bid components: 1. Bid tomill existing pavementsurface to a depth of one inch (1") overfull extents of paving project prior to asphalt pavement.
