The Town of Richlands is seeking quotes from qualified and experienced contractors to provide pressure washing and staining services for the existing wooden playground equipment and fencing at Critterville Park. This project aims to enhance the aesthetic appeal, prolong the lifespan of the wooden structures, and ensure a safe and inviting environment for park visitors. The scope of work includes the following: l . Pressure Washing: o Thorough pressure washing of all existing wooden playground equipment, including but not limited to: slides, swings, climbers, platforms, and any other wooden components. o Thorough pressure washing of all existing wooden fencing surrounding the playground area. o Removal of dirt, grime, mildew, algae, loose paint, and any other surface contaminants. o Careful execution to avoid damage to the wood or surrounding park areas. 2. Staining: Application of a high-quality, weather-resistant wood stain to all previously pressure-washed wooden playground equipment and fencing. The stain color shall be approved by the Town of Richlands. Samples may be requested. Application shall ensure coverage and penetration, protecting the wood from UV damage, moisture, and rot. All necessary preparation work (e.g., light sanding of rough spots if required after washing) is to be included. The Town of Richlands anticipates awarding the contract by July 9th , 2025. All questions regarding this Solicitation for quotes must be submitted in writing via email to the Town Manger at rholt@richlands-va.gov. The Town of Richlands reserves the right to reject quotes, to waive any informality or irregularity in the quotes received, and to negotiate with the most qualified contractor(s) if deemed in the best interest of the Town. The Town reserves the right to award the contract in whole or in part.
