Site work for a mixed-use development in Dillon, Colorado. Completed plans call for site work for a communication facility; and water / sewer project.
The scope of services will include assistance to the State during the process of design, construction, and warranty period. Specific tasks to be performed by the Design/Build Entity (DBE) include those generally performed by the Design-Build construction community, where the Designer is also the Contractor/Builder. This project involves constructing a new 60' self-supported radio tower and installation of a state provided concrete pre-fab communication shelter, at the Lake Hill site. The awarded vendor will have experience with projects of similar scope and value. The awarded vendor is expected to provide a state of the art product in a timely and professional manner. Frequent communication between vendor, owner, and owner's engineer is expected. The Office of Public Safety Communications (OPSC) provides critical and essential public safety two-way radio communications to over 1,000 local, state, tribal and federal public safety and governmental agencies across the state. On average the system supports 8 - 9M calls per month and is one of the largest communications systems in the United States. It is currently the largest system in Colorado providing interoperability across a vast array of independent communications systems in every county jurisdiction and region of the state. Over 120,000 Colorado first responders use the system for routine operations, emergency operations, interoperability, mutual aid, for both naturally occurring and man caused large scale events. Any construction contract awarded for $500,000 or more is subject to the requirements of prevailing wage and any public project construction in the amount of $1 million dollars or more shall be required to comply with the Apprenticeship utilization requirements of C.R.S. 24-92-115. Projects utilizing Federal funds are exempt from these requirements. Please see the Colorado Department of Transportation website for their labor compliance requirements.
