The City of Norton Shores is soliciting qualified vendors to submit proposals for the 2026-2027 Cross Connection Control Program, all non-residential accounts only, with the contract to expire on December 31, 2027. The City may elect, dependent upon the performance of the awarded contractor on this project, to extend the contract an additional one (1) year to expire on December 31, 2028. The undersigned further agrees to complete all work on the or before December 31, 2027. If the undersigned does not finish the work within the time specified, the City, or its duly-authorized representative, because of the difficulty in estimating damages, is authorized to retain out of the money which may be due or become due, the sum of Two Hundred Dollars ($200.00) for each calendar day by which the Contractor shall fail to complete the work, said sum to constitute liquidated damages and not penalty. Matt Anderson, Water and Sewer Superintendent of the Department of Public Works, will be the primary contact from the City of Norton Shores and can be contacted at 231-799-6804, or email at manderson@nortonshores.org. Accompanying this Proposal is a certified check or bid bond in the amount of five percent (5%) of the total bid, payable to the City of Norton Shores, Michigan, which it is agreed will be forfeited to said City of Norton Shores, Michigan if the undersigned fails to enter into a contract in conformity with the form of contract incorporated herein and furnish the required bonds and insurance as specified within ten (10) calendar days after the above said notification of award. A Contract bond and a Labor and Material Payment bond, each in the amount of the contract, is required prior to the City entering into a contract. The City reserves the right to accept or reject all or part of a bid when it appears in the best interest of the City. The City reserves the right to utilize total cost analysis to determine low bid. Bid date description: Each bid must be submitted in a sealed envelope addressed to the Purchasing Agent, City of Norton Shores, 4814 Henry St, Norton Shores, MI 49441. Each sealed envelope containing a bid must be plainly marked on the outside as 2026-2027 CROSS CONNECTION CONTROL PROGRAM. The name and address of the bidder shall be visible on the outside of the envelope.
