In general, the WORK under this Contract consists of replacing existing pumps, installing a new precast concrete valve vault with a bypass connection, upgrading electrical, control, and instrumentation systems, and recoating the existing concrete wet well. The WORK includes all labor, materials, equipment, and coordination necessary to complete the project as defined in the Contract Documents for the City of Laguna Beach. Specifically, the WORK includes, but is not limited to, the following major items: 1. General site preparation, including clearing, grubbing, excavation for underground and surface improvements, and demolition and disposal of existing structures and utilities, in accordance with an approved Waste Disposal Plan. 2. Protection in place of designated lift station structures and equipment to remain. 3. Modifications to the existing lift station system, including replacement of pumps, discharge piping, valves, mechanical equipment, and wet well instrumentation. 4. Utility potholing, surveying, and earthwork, including backfill and compaction. 5. Furnishing and installation of a below-grade precast concrete valve vault, including waterproofing, joint sealing, and application of structural coatings. 6. Implementation of a Bypass Pumping Plan to facilitate rehabilitation of the existing wet well, including surface preparation, crack and spall repair, application of protective coatings, and testing for dry film thickness (DFT) and adhesion. 7. Installation of new mechanical process equipment, including submersible pumps, discharge piping, process valves, flow meters, fittings, and supports. 8. Hydrostatic testing of all new discharge piping to verify leak-free performance. 9. Furnishing and installation of a new packaged duplex pump motor control panel, including wiring to pumps, sensors, and utility service in accordance with the National Electrical A-2 Code (NEC), with integrated programming, alarm setpoints, and safety protocols. 10. Installation of miscellaneous electrical and control components, such as conduits, junction boxes, grounding systems, level sensors, pressure transducers, and flow meters. 11. Coordination with the control panel manufacturer to implement system programming, including preliminary setpoints and alarm functions. 12. System startup and functional testing, to be completed to the satisfaction of the City. 13. Submission of project closeout documentation, including as-built drawings, operations and maintenance (O&M) manuals, and commissioning records. 14. Acquisition of all necessary permits, whether explicitly specified or not, as required by the Contract. 15. Sommet du Monde is a designated fire access road and must remain accessible to emergency vehicles at all times throughout construction. Contractor shall have successfully completed a minimum of three verifiable sewer lift station replacement projects of similar scope for a public agency with a minimum valuation of $500,000 each in the past 10 years.
