Renovation of a water / sewer project in Marysville, California. Completed plans call for the renovation of a water / sewer project.

The Work Site is located along the Bear River near County Road 512. These wells were installed between 2004 and 2010 as a part of a levee project. One of these wells has failed in the last year and is needs to be abandoned in place. This project is to abandon the existing well and replace it based on the previous design recommendations of the Geotechnical Engineer. The failed well shall be filled with an impervious material such as: sand cement grout, bentonite clay, neat cement, or concrete. The area where the sinkhole has occurred shall be excavated at a minimum 1:1 slope 6" below solid material. The well casing shall be removed to a point from 5 feet below the ground surface. The sealant shall be allowed to spill over into the excavation and form a cap. After the sealant has had sufficient time to set, the excavation shall be filled with native soil. A pilot hole shall be drilled prior to the construction of the new relief well to confirm the alluvial soils by soil gradation to a depth of approximately 85 feet. The Contract for the work will be awarded upon the basis of the total base bid price of the Bid Schedule. No Bid proposal will be considered unless it is made on the Bid Forms furnished by the District. Telefax Bids will not be considered or accepted. Substitution of securities for the monies withheld is permitted by the Contract Documents as an option open to the Contractor, pursuant to the provisions of Section 22300 of the Public Contracts Code. Proposals shall be prepared in accordance with the requirements set forth in the Contract Documents, on the forms therein or copies thereof, and shall be accompanied by bid security in an amount not less than 10% of the amount of the bid. Upon being awarded the contract, Contractor shall provide a 100% Public Works Payment Bond and a 100% Performance Bond. Small Project Exemption - Contractors who work exclusively on small public works projects are not required to register as a public works contractor or file electronic certified payroll reports for those projects. These contractors are still required to pay prevailing wages, maintain certified payroll records on a continuous basis, and provide them to the Labor Commissioner's Office upon request. The small project exemption applies for all public works projects that do not exceed: a. $25,000 for new construction, alteration, installation, demolition or repair b. $15,000 for maintenance The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all Proposals, or any Proposal not conforming to the intent and purpose of the Contract Documents, and to postpone the award of the Contract for a period of time which, however, shall not extend beyond 90 days from the bid opening date. No Proposal will be accepted from a contractor who has not been licensed in accordance with the laws of this State to perform the work herein described and who does not possess a Class C57 license or its equivalent for the type of work called for under this project. The Contract time for performance shall begin on the date specified in the written Notice to Proceed and shall extend through October 31, 2025. Portions of the work area contain special work restrictions that include construction limitations which require no work be performed on or after November 1.
