The University of California, Davis campus requests the submission of written statements of qualifications for building envelope consulting and peer review services during design and construction phases. This selection process will create a pool of up to three firms. Contract duration shall be for three (3) years with a maximum of two (2) one-year extensions, and a not-to-exceed fee, including reimbursable, of $1,000,000.00. Project Description/Scope of Work Work will include building envelope consulting and peer review services on widely-diverse building envelope systems including curtain wall, storefront, window, single-ply roofing, precast concrete, concrete block, cement plaster, metal panel, rain screens, or other exterior cladding system in both new construction and renovations or repair projects. The University is seeking firms with expertise to include water testing, forensic testing, prevention of water intrusion, recommend and test durability of finishes, quality control and inspection during construction. Firms must demonstrate their history in meeting budgets and schedules, and their ability to provide effective and experienced support. Services may include reviewing architectural details of the building envelope and providing constructability reviews and risk analyses during design phases, developing specifications, investigating water intrusion on existing buildings, conducting materials research, developing quality control methods, and LEED credit documentation. Construction phase services may include observing mock-up construction and testing, providing site inspections, preparing written reports, recommending improvements when necessary, assisting with review of building envelope submittals and RFI's and LEED credit documentation. Every effort will be made to ensure that all persons have equal access to contracts and other business opportunities with the University within the limits imposed by law or University policy. Each consultant may be required to show evidence of its equal employment opportunity policy. The successful consultant and its subconsultants will be required to follow the nondiscrimination requirements set forth in the Professional Services Agreement and to pay prevailing wage at the location of the work, if applicable.
