The Contractor shall be expected to perform the following types of work for the University: (1) crane work under the supervision of a certified crane operated; (2) high voltage and/or deenergizing utility line clearance pruning and trimming; (3) specialized Plant Health Care (PHC) applications; (4) biomass/tub grinding; (5) installation of support systems on trees; and (6) expert tree evaluation/consultation services. The Contractor shall provide its rates/pricing information for all work to be performed, as described more fully in the "Scope of Work" and "Additional Job RRequirements" sections in this RFQ. Contractor shall refer to the "Proposal Pricing Format" section of the RFQ for further guidance on how to provide information regarding its costs for services. The purpose of this Request for Proposal ("RFP") is to invite vendors and suppliers ("Contractor(s)") to prepare and submit qualifications to provide tree services at the University of California, Davis, ("UCD" or "University"), that UCD is not able to perform, in accordance with the requirements defined throughout this RFP. The University must contract out for these uncovered work/services as UCD (1) does not have crane or a certified crane operator; (2) is not qualified to work around high voltage and/or deenergizing lines; (3) does not have the expertise or certifications to perform certain specialized Plant Health Care (PHC) applications; (4) does not have the equipment or certifications to perform biomass/tub grinding; (5) does not have the technical expertise for installing support systems on trees; (6) sometimes needs to obtain expert tree evaluation/consultation services. We intend to establish a five-year blanket agreement for on-call services as described below. Question Deadline 07/28/2025 at 5:00 PM PT If there are any discrepancies in, omissions to, or questions about the information provided in the RFP or by any other source, a request shall be submitted via online It is the responsibility of each proposer to be familiar with all the specifications, terms and conditions and site conditions (if applicable). The proposer agrees and acknowledges all RFP specifications, terms, and conditions and indicates the ability to perform by submission of a proposal. By the submission of a proposal, the proposer certifies that if awarded a contract, they will make no claim against UC Davis based upon ignorance of conditions or misunderstanding of the specifications. The University reserves the right to reject any or all proposals or to waive any informalities or minor irregularities in a proposal. All Proposals shall be firm and fixed for one-hundred twenty (120) days following the deadline for RFP submissions, or until a contract is signed whichever comes first. The Contractor shall provide the highest quality and professionalism while performing tree maintenance for the University. This shall include the use of proper knowledge, skills, materials, and equipment on a timely basis to maintain all areas in a clean, safe, healthy, and aesthetically acceptable manner during the entire term of this contract. The Contractor shall provide to all necessary equipment, materials, and labor to perform the work described in this document in a safe, efficient, and legal manner.
