Renovation of a parking garage in Sioux City, Iowa. Completed plans call for the renovation of a parking garage.
**As of August 11th, 2025, this project has not yet been awarded. A timeline for the award has not yet been established.** The project is located at the Discovery Parking Ramp, 419 Jones Street and includes structural concrete repairs at the floor, beams, and columns. Repairs also include replacement of post-tensioning tendons. Waterproofing repairs include replacement of elastomeric concrete edged expansion joint and installation of a traffic topping membrane at the repair areas. Site Directions: Discovery Parking Ramp, 419 Jones Street The work on this project shall begin upon receipt of the Notice to Proceed and be fully completed by December 31, 2025. Each bid must be made on a form furnished by the City and must be accompanied by a bid bond, a cashier's check or certified check of an Iowa bank or a bank chartered under the laws of the United States, or a certified share draft drawn on a credit union in Iowa or chartered under the laws of the United States, in an amount equal to ten percent (10%) of the amount of the bid, made payable to the City Treasurer of the City of Sioux City, Iowa. The check or draft may be cashed by the City Treasurer as liquidated damages in the event the successful bidder fails to enter into a contract within the ten (10) days after notice of award and post bond satisfactory to the City ensuring the faithful fulfillment of the contract. The contract will be awarded to the lowest responsive, responsible bidder. However, the City reserves the right to reject any or all bids, readvertise for new bids and to waive informalities that may be in the best interest of the City. By virtue of statutory authority, a preference will be given to products and provisions grown and coal produced within the state of Iowa and to Iowa domestic labor. A. Work will be performed at locations within parking structure as shown on Drawings. B. Work required in these areas and estimated quantities are listed on Bid Form. Bid Quantities associated with Work Items listed on Drawings have been estimated and are subject to measurement as defined in Article "Measurements." Where additional Work Items are described, but not specifically located and/or shown on Drawings, Contractor shall be responsible for locating and marking areas to be repaired. Owner and/or Engineer/Architect reserves right to increase or decrease quantities up to 25% at same unit cost, as required by job conditions. Unit costs will be established in accordance with Supplementary Conditions, Article "Changes" for quantity variations exceeding 25%. C. Work Item specifications and details shall govern all repair operations. Locations where Work Items apply are shown on Drawings as symbols. D. Final payment shall be made on basis of actual approved Work performed as measured in place. E. Project comprises a ~760 car parking facility for The City of Sioux City at Jones St, Sioux City, IA 51101 F. Work consists of 2 supported tiers with work mainly focused on Levels 2 and 3. 1. Work includes concrete repairs at floors, ceilings, beams, columns, curbs, posttensioning (PT) Repairs, and expansion joint repair. The Contractor shall perform everything required to be performed and shall provide and furnish all of the labor, materials, necessary tools, expendable equipment and complete in a workmanlike manner all the work required in connection with the construction of the Discovery Parking Ramp Repairs 2025 Project in Sioux City, Iowa, all in strict accordance with the contract documents; and in strict compliance with the Contractor's bid and the other contract documents herein mentioned which are a part of this Contract; and the Contractor shall do everything required by this Contract and the other documents constituting a part thereof. 1. Work consists of performing all tasks, specifically required and incidental, which are not identified under separate Work Item designation, but necessary to perform the work identified in this project. This work includes, but is not limited to the following items: WI 1.1 - Mobilization WI 1.2 - Concrete Formwork (Incidental) WI 1.3 - Concrete Shores and Reshores (Incidental) WI 1.4 - Concrete Reinforcement (Incidental) WI 1.5 - Temporary Signage (Incidental) WI 1.13 - Supplemental Anchors (Incidental) WI 1.14 - Supplemental Adhesive Anchors (Incidental) WI 1.15 - Supplemental Reinforcement (Incidental) WI 1.16 - Supplemental Anchor Pins (Incidental) 1. Work consists of coordinating, scheduling, obtaining and assembling at construction site all equipment, materials, permits, supplies, manpower and other essentials and incidentals necessary to perform Work defined in this Contract. Payment of lump sum amount for mobilization shall be according to following schedule and shall be based on percentage of original contract amount earned. Work consists of furnishing all labor, materials, equipment, supervision, and incidentals necessary to install formwork as required for cast-in-place concrete. Work consists of furnishing all labor, materials, equipment, supervision, and incidentals necessary to install temporary shoring and to maintain shores in place until Work requiring shores is complete and associated concrete has properly cured. Work consists of furnishing all labor, materials, equipment, supervision, and incidentals necessary to fabricate and install all mild steel reinforcement and epoxy coated reinforcement. Work consists of furnishing all labor, materials, equipment and supervision necessary to provide and install and remove following completion of project, temporary signage as required for traffic control and user information during construction and as required by Owner/Engineer/Architect. This Work consists of furnishing all labor, materials, equipment, supervision, and incidentals necessary to install supplementary anchors to attach loose reinforcement to concrete repair surfaces. This Work Item is included for reference only, and is incidental to other Work Items. This Work consists of furnishing all labor, materials, equipment, supervision, and incidentals necessary to drill adhesive anchor dowel holes, prepare hole, install adhesive anchoring material, and install supplemental reinforcement. Adhesive and reinforcement can be installed in any orientation. Adhesive anchors not shown in details or specified shall be paid for in this Work Item. This work will be in conjunction with "Supplemental Reinforcement. This Work consists of furnishing all labor, materials, equipment, supervision, and incidentals necessary to provide and install supplementary reinforcement not shown or referenced on Details, or specified in Work Items, as directed by Engineer. Reinforcement can be installed in any orientation. This Work consists of furnishing all labor, materials, equipment, supervision, and incidentals necessary to drill anchor pin hole, prepare hole, and install anchor pin. Anchor pins shall be installed where existing reinforcing bars are not fully exposed to mechanically support concrete repair material. This Work consists of furnishing all labor, materials, equipment, supervision, and incidentals necessary to drill anchor pin hole, prepare hole, and install anchor pin. Anchor pins shall be installed where existing reinforcing bars are not fully exposed to mechanically support concrete repair material. This Work consists of furnishing all labor, materials, equipment, supervision and incidentals including shoring necessary to locate existing spalls, locate and remove delaminated and unsound floor concrete, prepare cavities and install new concrete and reinforcing (as required) materials to restore concrete floor to original condition and appearance. Refer to Detail Series 3.0 for specific requirements. This Work consists of furnishing all labor, materials, equipment, supervision and incidentals including shoring necessary to locate existing spalls, locate and remove delaminated and unsound overhead concrete, prepare cavities and install new concrete and reinforcing (as required) materials to restore overhead concrete to original condition and appearance. Refer to Detail Series 4.0 for specific requirements. This Work consists of furnishing all labor, materials, equipment, supervision and incidentals including shoring necessary to locate existing spalls, locate and remove delaminated and unsound overhead concrete, prepare cavities and install new concrete and reinforcing (as required) materials to restore concrete beams and joists to original condition and appearance. Refer to Detail Series 5.0 for specific requirements. This Work consists of furnishing all labor, materials, equipment, supervision and incidentals including shoring necessary to locate existing spalls, locate and remove delaminated and unsound floor concrete, prepare cavities and install new concrete and reinforcing (as required) materials to restore concrete floor to original condition and appearance. Refer to Detail Series 3.0 for specific requirements.
