The project is located at the Discovery Parking Ramp, 419 Jones Street and includes the removal and replacement of the existing air-cooled self-contained air handling unit, removal and replacement of electric duct heaters that heat each space, new electric connections for the replaced equipment and modifications of the temperature controls to sufficiently serve the space. The project will be completed in phases. Phase 1 is the electric heater replacement and has a completion date of November 1, 2025. Phase 2 is the air handling unit replacement and has a completion date of April 30, 2026. Site Directions: Discovery Parking Ramp, 419 Jones Street . Each bid must be made on a form furnished by the City and must be accompanied by a bid bond, a cashier's check or certified check of an Iowa bank or a bank chartered under the laws of the United States, or a certified share draft drawn on a credit union in Iowa or chartered under the laws of the United States, in an amount equal to ten percent (10%) of the amount of the bid, made payable to the City Treasurer of the City of Sioux City, Iowa. The check or draft may be cashed by the City Treasurer as liquidated damages in the event the successful bidder fails to enter into a contract within the ten (10) days after notice of award and post bond satisfactory to the City ensuring the faithful fulfillment of the contract. The work on this project shall begin upon receipt of the Notice to Proceed and be fully completed for Phase 1 on or before November 1, 2025 and for Phase 2, on or before April 30, 2026. The contract will be awarded to the lowest responsive, responsible bidder. However, the City reserves the right to reject any or all bids, readvertise for new bids and to waive informalities that may be in the best interest of the City. By virtue of statutory authority, a preference will be given to products and provisions grown and coal produced within the state of Iowa and to Iowa domestic labor. Bids received will be opened and tabulated at a public meeting, presided over by a City Engineer, in the 4th Floor Clock Tower Conference Room in the Public Works Department, City Hall, at 1:00 P.M., Local Time, on July 15, 2025. Thereafter, bids will be acted upon by the City Council at such time and place as may be fixed.
