The work within the Ross Durrance Road Project involves embankment stabilization and improvements along Ross Durrance Road, near Hazlitt Creek, in the District of Highlands. The project is located on private property within a designated right of way. The scope of work includes construction of a stabilized fill slope with a 1.5H:1V or shallower slope using coarse rock fill, installation of approximately 240m2 of non-woven geotextile fabric, placement of large boulders where required to retain the toe of slope, A 1-meter-wide shoulder along the East side of Ross Durrance Road with 0.5m of 75mm minus crushed gravel compacted to 98% SPMDD within +/- 2% of OMC max 300mm loose lift thickness asphalt, a single lift of 50mm thick asphalt where repaving is required, over excavation and replacement with rockfill in areas with peat or organics if required, and the removal of 11 trees, including large fir and cedar species. Traffic control will be by the District of Highlands. The contractor is to coordinate with the district for further detail.
