The Kentucky Community and Technical College System, Office for Facilities Support Services, on behalf of Ashland Community & Technical College (ACTC) desires to procure professional architectural services and an associated project team to accomplish a 2,500 sf renovation to accommodate a Health Science Lab on the first floor of the Health Services Building on their main campus in Ashland, Kentucky. Ashland Community and Technical College (ACTC) intends that this project creates a simulation laboratory for the following health sciences programs: Associate degree Nursing, Practical Nursing, Surgical Technology, Radiography, and Medical Assisting. This lab will provide a high-fidelity environment for practicing, assessing, and reflecting onthe-job skills. It will also serve as a training facility for current employees of the University of Kentucky King's Daughters Medical System, the region's largest employer with a 150-mile radius covering 20 counties. Additionally, the University of Kentucky King's Daughters Medical System commits to considering applicants who are graduates of ACTC health science programs. This proposed project would accomplish the development of the ACTC Training Lab through the following: This project will consist of selective demolition of existing gypsum drywall walls, doors, flooring, etc. to accommodate new work. It will include some limited modification of the HVAC system. The renovation will include some new ceiling finishes, flooring, lighting, electric and plumbing updates. This project is funded by a federal grant, provided by the Abandoned Mine Land Economic Revitalization (AMLER) Project. This project shall follow all guidelines of this grant.
