Site work for a bridge / tunnel in Swanzey, New Hampshire. Completed plans call for site work for a bridge / tunnel.
The Town of Swanzey (the Town) is soliciting proposals from qualified firms (Contractors) for replacing the wooden deck on the Carlton Covered Bridge. The Carlton Covered Bridge deck is approximately 67'4" long with a width of approximately 13'. It is constructed with approximately 876 square feet of white oak deck boards. o Temporary removal of wood curb (to be reinstalled after deck replacement) o Removal and delivery of existing deck boards to Swanzey Recycling Center (98 Pine Street) o Inspection of joists for decay or damage o Installation of new 3"x7" rough sawn white oak timbers structural green clear from large knots and defects o Use of 3/8" x 4 1/2 " stainless-steel lag bolts with washers. The lag bolts are to be installed in 1" deep counter sunk holes with a predrilled pilot hole into the base layer.
