Site work and outdoor lighting for a playground / park / athletic field in Topeka, Kansas. Completed plans call for site work for a 117,300-square-foot playground / park / athletic field; and for outdoor lighting for a playground / park / athletic field.
Shawnee County is soliciting sealed bids for the construction of four (4) new tennis courts including amenities and center improvements at Kossover Tennis Center located at 2540 SW Gage Blvd, per the following minimum requirements. Kossover Tennis Center is the premier tennis facility for Topeka and Shawnee County with eighteen (18) tennis courts including a club office, shelters, bleachers, and ample parking located in southwest Topeka. To allow the opportunity to expand tournament and league play to larger regional and national organizations, Shawnee County proposes the construction of four (4) additional courts bringing the total to twenty-two (22). Shawnee County Parks + Recreation (SCP+R) is seeking qualified contractors to construct four additional tennis courts (courts 19-22) as designed by Mammoth Sports Construction as the Base Bid of this project. The addition will include the construction of a post-tensioned slab for the tennis courts to the east of the existing facility with four sets of bleachers and shade structures. Contractor will coordinate the installation of owner supplied court lighting. Court construction includes court and perimeter fencing, court hardware, surfacing, amenities, shade structures, electrical, and connecting walkways as identified in the attached Mammoth documents and appendices. SCP+R will supply Musco LED lighting and fixtures for installation by the selected contractor. SCP+R requests this to be a turn-key project so bidders shall be required to attend the pre-bid meeting to perform site inspections and assure all facets of this RFP are taken into account. Court Lighting (courts 19-22) for base bid will include the installation of lighting on six (6) new poles. Poles and lighting will be supplied by SCP+R from Musco Sports Lighting. These include: Add Alternate 1: Update existing light poles with LED (supplied by SCP+R) Existing poles with lighting include: A. Courts 1-3: 3 courts side by side, 4 existing poles, replace lighting B. Courts 4-6: 3 courts side by side, 4 existing poles, replace lighting C. Courts 7-9: 3 courts side by side, 4 existing poles, replace lighting Add Alternate 2: Add poles and lighting (supplied by SCP+R) to unlighted courts (10-18) as shown below. New poles and lighting including electrical connections as needed: A. Courts 10-13: 2-over-2 courts, 6 new poles and lighting B. Courts 14-17: 2-over-2 courts, 3 new poles and lighting with addition of lighting on back of poles from courts 19 & 21. C. Court 18, single court, 4 new poles and lighting Add Alternate 3: Fence extension (12' H black w/ tension wire on bottom) and add concrete walkway and mowstrips. Relocate the perimeter fence on the east side of courts 3-4 (approximately 11.5') to the east. Add concrete between courts and relocated fence with 16" mowstrip. Add Alternate 4: Concrete at inside of North and East perimeter fencing Add concrete to the north and east sides of the new courts 19-22 instead of the grass shown in diagrams. Add Alternate 5: Repair and Resurface all existing tennis courts Resurface and repaint all 18 existing courts (approximately 117,300 SF). Shawnee County reserve the right to accept or reject any part of, or all of, any bid or proposal. All prices quoted are to be less Federal Excise Tax and Kansas Sales Tax. Price quoted shall remain firm for ninety (90) days after bid closing date Question Deadline 07/24/2025 at 5:00 PM CT All questions regarding this RFP should be submitted through electronically. Questions submitted after this deadline will not be answered. All questions requesting clarification of items/issues discussed at the pre-proposal conference must be submitted in writing via electronically. Proposers should clearly understand that the only official answer or position of Shawnee County will be in writing. Any modification to this Request arising from the pre-proposal conference, as well as answers to written questions shall be made in writing by addendum and will be issued through electronically.
