Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Garfield, New Jersey. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; for paving for a road / highway; sidewalk / parking lot; and sidewalk / parking lot.
** As of 09/29/2025 project has beeen awarded to Smith-Sondy Asphalt Construction Co., Inc but no amount available.** Base Bid 1 & 2 - Funded by 2023 LTPF: Milling and resurfacing of Harrison Avenue from Frederick Street to Arnot Street including replacement of curbs, driveways, sidewalks, ADA curb ramps, curb pieces, and other incidentals. The project also consists of full streetscape improvements on Harrison Avenue (from Frederick Street Charles Street) and traffic signal improvements at the intersection of Harrison Avenue and Charles Street. Base Bid 3 & 4 - Funded by City of Garfield and Borough of Lodi: Milling and resurfacing of Harrison Avenue from Arnot Street to Outwater Lane including replacement of curbs, driveways, sidewalks, ADA curb ramps, curb pieces, and other incidentals. Concrete Sidewalk, 4" Thick . 2,255 L.F. 9" x 18" Concrete Vertical Curb Base Bid 3 - Funded by City of Garfield . 765 TON Hot Mix Asphalt 12.5M64 Surface Course . 705 S.Y. Concrete Sidewalk, 4" Thick . 425 S.Y. Concrete Driveway, 6" Thick . 970 L.F. 9" x 18" Concrete Vertical Curb Base Bid 4 - Funded by Borough of Lodi . 745 TON Hot Mix Asphalt 12.5M64 Surface Course . 600 S.Y. Concrete Sidewalk, 4" Thick . 670 S.Y. Concrete Driveway, 6" Thick . 1,150 L.F. 9" x 18" Concrete Vertical Curb The work contemplated under this Contract shall be completed within 120 calendar days of notice to proceed. Each bid must be made upon the prescribed forms, furnished with the Contract Drawings and Specifications, including the non-collusion affidavit and ownership statement compliance form and must be accompanied by a Consent of Surety and a certified check, cashier's check, or Bid Bond of not less than ten (10%) percent of the amount bid and, not to exceed $20,000.00. Such checks and Bonds shall be made payable to the Owner and will be held as a Guarantee that in the event the Bid is accepted and a Contract awarded to the bidder, the Contract shall be duly executed and its performance properly secured. The successful bidder shall furnish and deliver to the Owner a performance and payment bond in the amount of 100 percent of the accepted bid amount as security for the faithful performance and payment of the Contract. Further, the successful bidder must furnish the policies or Certificates of Insurance required by the Contract. In default thereof, said checks and the amount represented thereby will be forfeited to the aforesaid Owner as liquidated damages. Bids must be accompanied, in the case of corporations not chartered in New Jersey, by proper certificate that such corporation is authorized to do business in the State of New Jersey. Bidders are required to comply with the requirements of N.J.S.A. 10:5-31 et seq. and N.J.A.C. 17:27 regarding equal employment opportunity, as amended. All corporations and partnerships and limited liability companies must comply with N.J.S.A. 52:25-24.2, regarding disclosure of partners and stockholders. Each bid must be enclosed in a sealed envelope bearing the name and address of the bidder, addressed to the Owner and labeled for the HARRISON AVENUE IMPROVEMENT PROJECT. The successful bidder will be required to comply with all provisions of prevailing wage rates as determined by the New Jersey Department of Labor. Unless otherwise permitted by N.J.S.A. 40A:11-23.3, all bids shall be irrevocable, not subject to withdrawal and shall stand available for a period of sixty (60) days in accordance with N.J.S.A. 40A:11-24. The Owner and Bidder may agree to hold bids for consideration for a longer period of time, in accordance with N.J.S.A. 40A:11-24. The Owner reserves the right to reject bids pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A:11-13.2, N.J.A.C. 7:22-9.10, or other applicable law; to waive minor informalities or non-material exceptions in the bids received and to accept the bid from the lowest responsible bidder, as per N.J.S.A. 40A: 11-1, et seq.
