Reference Number 0000299347 Question Acceptance Deadline 19-Aug-2025 12:00:00 PM EDT Metrolinx is accepting Submissions for Provision of Janitorial and Window Washing Services at Mount Dennis GO Station The vendor is responsible for inspecting and maintaining the following areas: the ticket booth, lunchroom, the single washroom within the lunchroom, six (6) elevator track beds (where debris commonly accumulates), stairways leading to the platforms, and two extended platforms (including one shared platform). Duties include regular cleaning and upkeep as needed. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: (a) Replenishing washroom supplies, cleaning and maintaining staff washroom. (b) Wiping down counter tops, cupboards in the ticket booth and the lunchroom as required, (c) The ticket booth, lunchroom, and staff washroom-totaling approximately 58 square meters-must be cleaned daily using a portable walk-behind floor scrubber. The vendor is required to supply one unit of this equipment for regular use. The equipment must meet Metrolinx specifications, be in optimal working condition, and will be subject to inspection and approval by Metrolinx. (d) The vendor is also responsible for removing garbage, recycling, and organic waste from all designated areas. (e) Cleaning benches and addressing spills and debris on platforms as required. The two extended platforms (one being a shared platform) are approximately 4772 square meters. (f) All graffiti, unauthorized stickers, posters, tape residue, etc. shall be removed immediately in areas noted in this scope of work. (g) All human excrement and drug paraphernalia shall be removed immediately from the platforms and stairs leading up to the platforms. (h) Clean the interior glass panels of passenger shelters on the rail platform to maintain visibility and aesthetic standards. Use handheld tools such as a squeegee, bucket with cleaning solution, and microfiber cloths once to two times a week. (i) Clean the exterior glass panels of passenger shelters on the rail platform to maintain visibility and aesthetic standards. Vendors are prohibited from bringing any equipment, including ladders, onto the platform level to perform this task unless accompanied by a designated flagman. All cleaning must be done with handheld tools only, and in accordance with all applicable safety protocols. (j) Cleaning all interior and exterior glasses on doors leading up to the platform and doors for platform shelters one to two times per week. (k) Cleaning of six elevator track beds where debris commonly accumulates as a result of passenger activity. (1) Any salt, dirt, or other debris that is swept up must be collected and deposited only in designated waste receptacles. NOTE: Salt, dirt and debris that is generated as a result of the sweeping/wiping process cannot be deposited or swept into the track area under any circumstances. (m) Working outside the yellow platform lines (on the railway tracks) is strictly prohibited, without permission from the flagman or safety watch. (n) Cleaning staff must be available to receive instructions from a Metrolinx Supervisor for general cleaning tasks (e.g., spills, garbage removal), which must be addressed within 10 minutes. Porters must carry a functioning cell phone throughout their shift for ongoing communication and to receive real-time cleaning requests from Metrolinx staff. Metrolinx reserves the right to reject any or all Submissions at its sole discretion.
