Reference Number 0000394465 The County Community Planning and Natural Resources Department is soliciting proposals for a consultant/contractor to provide consulting, public engagement, and deliverables for Chaffee County Safer Roadways for All Action Plan (SAP) under the Federal Highway Administration's Safe Streets for All (SS4A) initiative. The project should include all state and federal highways within Chaffee County and major and high-impact County roads. Chaffee's roadways support an incredible variety of users every day, including residents, regional commuters, multimodal recreationists, freight haulers, and thousands of tourists. 20-25% of all reported crashes involve out-of-state-drivers, with common themes reflecting both behavioral and environmental issues as contributing factors. The contractor will commence work by September 15, 2025 and complete all elements of the project by June 15, 2026.
