According to the district, the bond is divided into three propositions. Proposed projects include junior high renovations, district-wide HVAC upgrades, new buses, and safety vehicles. Additional funding would support improvements to Panther Stadium and upgrades to the district's tennis complex. _________ https://www.kltv.com/2025/09/23/spring-hill-isd-holds-meeting-proposed-property-tax-increase-bond-package/ LONGVIEW, Texas (KLTV) - Spring Hill ISD held a meeting on Monday to answer questions from residents about a proposed property tax hike and $20 million bond package that will be on the November ballot. If approved by voters, property taxes in the district would be increased by $.0321 per $100 property valuation. The district says the change would provide an additional $304,000 per year. Spring Hill ISD School Board President John Borens says there is leeway with how that money is used. “It could be used for increased stipends for teachers, it could be used for extracurricular programs, it could be used for curriculum,” he said. Borens added that if the property tax increase does not go through, the district would have a deficit budget. Spring Hill ISD residents will also have their say over a $20 million bond package. The district says they will prioritize renovating the Junior High School with the bond funds. That would include improving the carpeting and ceiling tiles across the building, as well as replacing acoustic boards in the band hall. The turf on the football field would also be updated. Spring Hill ISD School Board Vice President Kyle Stephens said the turf, which was installed in 2016, is “in good shape but at some point, it will have to be replaced for safety reasons.” The bond package would also be used to pay for restroom facility upgrades near the tennis complex and HVAC system replacements. The bond package would not increase taxes, according to Spring Hill ISD. “It seems like we’re getting pinched more and more with our funding. We have to be better stewards with the dollars that we do receive,” added Stephens, pointing to rising inflation. Spring Hill ISD resident Camelia Rios says she supports all four propositions on the ballot, adding she mainly wants to see the restroom facility near the tennis courts upgraded. “I still have small kids and 15 years from now I could still see maybe my grandchildren enjoying the campuses,” Rios said. The election for the bond package and property tax increase is on Nov. 4. _________ Project work includes additions for the Career and Technology Education addition and commons addition. As of August 7, 2025, this project is in the pre-construction phase. An architect and construction manager has been selected for the project. A firm timeline for construction has not been disclosed.
