The contractor shall provide onsite maintenance and repair services for one Symmetra PX 40kW Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) Back-Up system at the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Chicago Regional Office. Services include furnishing all labor, materials, parts, supplies, supervision, and equipment necessary to perform twice-yearly preventive maintenance (PM), which involves inspecting, cleaning, adjusting, calibrating, and repairing the UPS and Power Distribution Unit (PDU). The contractor will also diagnose and repair any error conditions or anomalies that arise during standard usage or PM visits, ensuring the system operates according to manufacturer specifications. The contractor is responsible for replacing 128 APC UPS batteries over the contract period (32 per option year), including removal and EPA-compliant disposal of spent batteries. All personnel must be APC-certified and meet OSHA and other applicable safety standards. Service calls must be responded to within four working hours and resolved within 24 hours. Preventive maintenance includes visual, environmental, and electronic inspections, firmware updates, and full system shutdowns for thorough servicing. Documentation of all service activities must be submitted within five business days of each visit. The contractor will also provide monthly consolidated invoices and recommendations for equipment upgrades or replacements as needed.
