Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Western Springs, Illinois. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; for paving for a road / highway; sidewalk / parking lot; and sidewalk / parking lot.
The main work items include construction of a new concrete raised crosswalk, new concrete sidewalk, concrete pavement repairs, concrete curb and gutter replacement at three sites in the Village of Western Springs. Question Deadline 08/27/2025 No oral comments will be made to any Bidder as to the meaning of the Plans and Specifications or other contract documents. Requests for comments shall be made in writing. Inquiries received in writing within seven (7) or more days prior to the bid opening will be given consideration and answers may be provided in writing to all known p Site 1 - Construction of a raised concrete crosswalk on Burlington Avenue just west of Central Avenue. Sidewalk construction south side of Burlington Avenue connecting crosswalk to Spring Rock Park path system Site 2 - Concrete pavement and curb and gutter rehabilitation on Hillgrove Avenue between Wolf Road and Howard Avenue Site 3 - Concrete driveway pavement patching at Fire Station 1 (4353 Wolf Road) Burlington Avenue Raised Crosswalk All Burlington Avenue raised crosswalk work shown on the plans shall be completed by November 21, 2025 Hillgrove Avenue, Wolf Road to Franklin Avenue: The contractor may fully close these two blocks of parking at the same time. The contractor shall complete all work except pavement marking removal and replacement within 21 calendar days of the start of the parking closure and shall also have all work completed no later than November 21, 2025. Each block of Hillgrove Avenue parking stalls may be closed for a maximum of 21 calendar days from the start date of work on the block. The Village seeks to complete these repairs in a timely manner so the parking can be re-opened to the public. The Village will allow for pavement marking work to be done outside the 21 calendar day work window in an effort to allow for completion of all pavement marking work on the project on a single day. The Contractor is to provide 2 business days heads up prior to the desired pavement marking work date. The parking stalls can be closed again for one calendar day to complete pavement marking work. Hillgrove Avenue, Franklin Avenue to east of Howard Avenue : Work on these two blocks shall not begin prior to June 8, 2026 due to the presence of the school and the traffic congestion and safety concerns for the school children that the work would cause. The contractor may fully close parking stalls on both blocks. The contractor is to provide the Village seven business days advanced notice prior to the planned start of work date so the Village can notify the businesses and school in this area. The contractor shall complete all work within 21 calendar days of the start of the parking closure and shall also have all work completed no later than July 17, 2026. Each block of Hillgrove Avenue parking stalls may be closed for a maximum of 21 calendars from the start date of work on the block. The Village seeks to complete these repairs in a timely manner Fire Station/Village Hall Pavement Patches The contractor shall complete all work within 14 calendar days of the start of work on this and shall also have all work completed no later than November 21, 2025. The south fire station driveway may be closed during the work period, however the contractor must move out of the way when fire and ambulance equipment are responding to calls and the north driveway must remain open at all times.
