Demolition, site work, renovation and addition to a mixed-use development in Lynchburg, Virginia. Completed plans call for the addition of a 30,000-square-foot transportation facility; for the demolition of a transportation facility; for the renovation of a transportation facility; and for site work for a transportation facility.

FedEx, UPS, and the USPS have access to the building to deliver mail/packages to the Procurement Office. If vendors choose to hand deliver bids, they can do so at the Citizens First Information Center in the lobby on the First Floor of City Hall at 900 Church St. Monday - Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. A Procurement Office staff member will be contacted by Citizens First to retrieve the bid and timestamp it at that time. It is the sole responsibility for the Bidder to ensure their bid is timestamped prior to the deadline for submission. Please allow additional time to ensure this is done. Project Description: This project includes the construction of a 3,000 square foot addition to the existing Lynchburg Regional Airport hangar currently occupied by CentraOne/PHI Air. This addition will be connected to the current structure. The addition includes offices, training rooms, maintenance areas, crew quarters, living spaces with a kitchenette (no commercial appliances requiring special exhaust hoods), workspace, and bathrooms. Modifications to the existing hangar will include reworking of the electrical service entrance and addition of emergency power for the hangar door and renovation of existing spaces. Also included is site work to include earth moving (+/-2,000CY of fill), demolition, milling, asphalt pavement (aggregate sub-base), concrete sidewalk, erosion and sediment control, drainage improvements, utility relocations/improvements and maintenance of traffic. The general description of the proposed building systems include: 1. Substructure: 4" reinforced slab on grade with stem wall and spread footing, R-10 perimeter insulation, fiber mesh, and welded wire reinforcing. 2. Shell: a. Storm shelter per ICC 500 standards: Single-wythe 8" split-faced CMU wall assembly with 2" rigid insulation (R-9.5ci), 3-5/8" light gauge steel (LGS) framing with R-15 batt insulation, and 5/8" gypsum wallboard (GWB). b. Non-storm shelter: Similar CMU walls with insulation and GWB. 3. Roof: One-way pitched/sloped roof transitioning from existing pre-engineered metal building (PEMB) hangar, R-30ci insulation. 4. Exterior: Rated steel frame windows and doors for storm shelter; aluminum storefront and steel doors for non-storm shelter areas. 5. Interiors: Metal stud framed partitions with GWB, solid flush wood doors, barn-style rolling doors, stainless steel toilet accessories, ceramic tile or epoxy wainscot in toilet/utility areas, Technofloor (F-3000) flooring, and 2x2 ACT tegular lay-in ceilings (9'-0" minimum). 6. Services: HVAC, plumbing, electrical (including emergency generator), fire protection a. Fire alarm system and NFPA 13R sprinkler system, and data/CCTV/access control infrastructure.
