The City of Lewes is accepting proposals from qualified marine construction contractors to remove and replace decking on specified floating docks at the Lewes Canalfront Park Marina. The City requires the installation of composite decking as the decking material. THE AWARDEE WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR: A City of Lewes Building Permit is required for this work; the permit fee will be waived. The awarded contractor will be required to obtain a City of Lewes Business License prior to the start of work. The contractor awarded this project will be responsible for obtaining, contracting, and managing any subcontractors required to complete the work, including but not limited to electrical, plumbing, or specialty trades. All subcontractors must be licensed, insured and have a City of Lewes Business License. DEMOLITION & INSTALLATION: Remove existing decking at designated docks. Install composite decking on all floating docks and platforms as identified during the pre-bid meeting. ADDITIONAL WORK (INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO): Eleven (11) utility pedestals must be disconnected, removed, and reinstalled. Twenty-eight (28) corner fenders must be replaced with new fenders. Seventy-six (76) cleats must be removed and reinstalled in their original locations. Gangways must be lifted and braced. They will be properly reset at the completion of the project. All ladders attached to the floating dock will need to be removed and reinstalled at the completion of the project. Exclusions: Electrical and plumbing removal/reinstallation must be performed by qualified subcontractors (secured by the awarded contractor); existing framing to remain in place unless otherwise specified.
