Reference Number 0000396381 This scope of work will include both structural and mechanical upgrades at the Lester J. Berglund Water Treatment Plant (LJBWTP) in the City of Poway, California. Plant upgrades will be focused on the filter area on the Filter Deck, Filters No. 5 - 8, and Backwash Vault. The work includes but is not necessarily limited to the following: The cleaning of interior surfaces of the filters and inlet channel, the full media replacement for existing filters 5 through 8. The resurfacing and condition assessment of the existing stainless steel surface wash water (SWW) headers. The addition of pipe supports for the SWW headers. Replacement of the ductile iron (DI) 90 degree elbow on the SWW header. Coating of the DI SWW piping and fittings. The removal and disposal of the existing PVC spray system. Crack repair of the interior of the filters. Concrete repair for the top of slab edge of Filter No. 5-8. Rehabilitation and repair of the wash water supply valve, pipe supports, and pipe misalignment. The work shall be phased so that repairs and rehabilitation of no more than two filters are off-line at any one time, with Filters No. 5 and 7 grouped together and Filters No. 6 and 8 grouped together.
