Bridge Improvements - Bridge 30 - Chateauguay Road Project Background. The downstream half of the bridge footings have scoured, and the undermining must be fixed before the bridge fails. The reason for this problem is that the footings were not poured on bed rock and the stream has lowered by 24 inches. Bridge Details. The bridge has a concrete deck with approximate dimensions 14 FT wide by 28 FT long. The bridge is on TH-47, Chateauguay Road Lat: 43 42' 18.00042" N, Lon: 72 38' 47.17700" W. Scope of Work. From the bottom of the footings, core top of footing in several places and pump concrete under footings to fill voids. Create reverse weirs on downstream side of bridge, raise stream bed 24 inches. Award will be based on price, expected start and completion dates, and other considerations. All bidders must include proof of Worker's Compensation Insurance at time of award. The Town of Barnard reserves the right to reject any bids received. The intent is to award a contract on the same evening as the bid opening. Project Schedule. Work may begin as soon as September 18, 2025, and must be completed during in-stream dates (typically end in October).
