Site work for a water / sewer project in Greenville, North Carolina. Conceptual plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.

The City of Greenville, NC is seeking qualifications from engineering firms interested in providing the services required to prepare final design documents, acquisition, and provide construction administration for a stormwater drainage improvement project. The project was identified in the City's Fork Swamp Watershed Master Plan as Trafalgar Drive - South and Trafalgar Drive - North and will be funded through grant funds and the City's Stormwater Utility. Questions about this project should be directed to Mr. Chris Moore, Construction Project Manager via email: JCMoore@greenvillenc.gov. The City proposes to upgrade culverts and perform floodplain benching along Trafalgar Drive at two stream crossings to protect the roadway and neighboring homes against flooding (see Attachment A for project map). The proposed project will mitigate this risk while also improving natural floodplain function. The proposed project activities are: Grade a floodplain bench (approximately 50' width) along the Unnamed Tributary to Fork Swamp from the upstream side of Corey Road to Trafalgar Drive South as necessary to reduce the tailwater and provide a 25-year level of service. Replace existing twin 72" CMP culverts at Trafalgar Drive North with estimated twin 8 'x 6' reinforced concrete box culverts (RCBCs). Raise the top of road elevation by 2" to 4" at Trafalgar Drive North culvert crossing Replace existing twin 72" CMP culverts at Trafalgar Drive South with estimated twin 8' x 6' RCBCs. This project was selected to receive funding from FEMA through the Hazard Mitigation Grant Program (HMGP) administrated by the North Carolina Department of Public Safety Division of Emergency Management which is subject to, federal guidance and timelines. Design must be completed by May 2026 for submission of an additional HMGP Grant to support construction. The City reserves the right to accept the firm with the qualifications that best fit the Scope of Services as defined by the City of Greenville and is deemed to be in the best interest of the City; or the City can reject all submittals. The method of Contractor Selection has not been Determined at this time.
