West Kern Water District is requesting sealed proposals from qualified Contractors to perform the following scope of work for the District's potable water storage tank (Tank No. 2) located approximately 3 miles southwest of Highway 33 and Wood Street, in Taft, California on 25 Hill Road. The Contractor shall furnish all labor, materials, tools, equipment, and services necessary to complete interior coating removal, abrasive blasting, surface preparation, and related cleanup and disposal detailed in the Technical Specifications and listed below. o Mobilization and Equipment o Coating (Coal Tar) Removal o Surface Preparation for Ultrasonic Thickness Testing (UTT) o Surface Readiness o Cleanup and Waste Disposal o Site Containment and Environmental Protection o Permits and Compliance o Safety and Site Access o Site Restoration and Cleanup Concrete Slurry and Steel Floor Installation . Scope A - Coating Removal and Ultrasonic Thickness Testing Preparation preparation, slurry placement, steel floor installation, and weld work. SCOPE B Concrete Slurry and Steel Floor Installation: West Kern Water District is requesting sealed proposals from qualified Contractors to perform the following scope of work for the District's potable water storage tank (Tank No. 2) located approximately 3 miles southwest of Highway 33 and Wood Street, in Taft, California on 25 Hill Road. The Contractor shall furnish all labor, materials, tools, equipment, and services required to install a new steel floor within Tank No. 2 at Pump Station H. This work includes substrate preparation, slurry placement, steel floor installation, and weld work as detailed in the Technical Specifications and listed below. o Tank Interior Surface Prep for Slurry Placement o Concrete Slurry Installation o Steel Floor Bottom Fabrication and Installation o Tank Shell Door Sheet Removal & Installation (Access Opening) o Welding o Testing and Quality Control o Cleanup and Site Restoration o Quality Assurance and Verification Requirements All proposals must be accompanied by cash, cashier's check, or certified check (payable to the District) for an amount not less than 10 percent of the total proposal(s), or by a bond for said amount and so payable, signed by the bidder and two sureties who must justify before any officer competent to administer an oath in double the said amount and over and above all statutory exemptions, or by a corporate Surety Bond, all to the satisfaction and approval of the District. The successful bidder will be required to furnish a Payment Bond and a Faithful Performance Bond, both of which must be in the amount of 100 percent of the contract price. The successful bidder may elect to deposit securities with the District in lieu of having funds withheld by the District to ensure performance under the bid contract, in accordance with Section 22300 of the California Public Contract Code. The District reserves the right to reject any and all bids received, to waive any irregularity, or to award the bid to other than the lowest bidder. The District will evaluate both scopes but reserves the right to award only the option deemed to be in the District's best interest. Bidders must hold the appropriate license(s) as listed below at the time of bid submittal.
