Renovation of a municipal facility in Lacey, Washington. Completed plans call for the renovation of a municipal facility.

ECY - Fire Alarm System Upgrade Fire Alarm/Emergency Communications: a. The Fire Alarm System shall be a new complete, fully operational, intelligent (analog) and addressable (digital), low voltage 24 Volts D.C. microprocessor-based Fire Alarm System that will transmit a signal to the monitoring entity. b. The Fire Alarm System shall consist of the Fire Alarm System Control Panel, Remote Annunciators, Power Supplies, Graphic Maps, AES Transmitter, Initiation Devices, and Notification Appliances. c. Initiation Devices shall consist of Smoke Detectors, Heat Detectors, Duct Detectors, Manual Pull Stations at all exits, Monitor Modules, Relay Modules, Control Modules, etc. Smoke & Heat detection for the protection of equipment and openings. d. Notification appliances shall consist of Strobes, Speakers or Horns, Combination Speaker/Strobes or Combination Horn/Strobes throughout common public areas. e. The Fire Alarm System shall also interface with other systems such as Smoke and Fire/Smoke Dampers, Duct Smoke Detectors, H.V.A.C. Systems, Magnetic Door Holders, Magnetic Door Releases, Fire Rated Coiling Doors, Fire Rated Shutters, Fire Protection Sprinkler Systems, etc. f. All Initiation circuits shall be "Class A". All Notification Circuits shall be "Class A" or "Class B". All Signaling Line Circuits (SLC), Initiation Circuits, and Notification Circuits, shall be provided with 25 percent spare capacity. g. All conduits shall be filled to a maximum fill capacity of 40 percent. h. All cabling is to be plenum rated and installed in conduit when installed in concealed spaces. Open conductors are acceptable in accessible spaces for fire alarm cabling as long as a dedicated hanger system is provided. i. The Fire Alarm System shall be provided with back-up batteries to power the entire Fire Alarm System for a minimum of 24 hours of standby operation immediately followed by 5 minutes of alarm operation. j. "Shop Drawing" submittals shall also include equipment submittals, back-up battery calculations and voltage drop calculations. k. The Fire Alarm System Contractor shall be currently listed and approved by UL for "Proprietary Protective Signal System Listing Program" with a UUJS certificate of compliance and be a NICET certified Level III technician. l. The Fire Alarm System Contractor shall be capable of designing, installing, and testing a Fire Alarm System in accordance with the latest edition of N.F.P.A. #72. m. Provide new Notifier ICSS monitoring hub and maintain existing Johnson Control IFI hub to other existing systems.
