The City of Lacey is seeking a qualified consultant to provide engineering structural consulting services for the design of a roof structure(s) and associated foundation(s) for the vactor decant facility. The successful candidate will demonstrate proven skills and technical competence in structural engineering The project is located on an 11.68-ac parcel (Thurston County Parcel Number 11815230700) owned by the City of Lacey, and used by both the Lacey Police Department and the Public Works Department. The Police Department uses a portion of the site as their vehicle impound yard. The Public Works Department uses the site for a number of operations and maintenance related activities including: salt and sand storage, street sweeping debris offloading, and vactor waste decanting. The City currently has two vactor waste decant facilities on-site that are utilized. The existing 50' x 50' prefabricated canopy structure that was constructed in the mid 2000s may be replaced with approximately 80' wide x 50' long new roof structure or just the new concrete pad. There is a second location in the vicinity that needs to be roofed off as well. One of the decant facilities was constructed in the mid-2000s and the other in the mid-2010s. The project includes designing a roof structure(s) such as a prefabricated canopy structure or a pole barn structure to cover the new concrete slab, an existing concrete slab and possibly replace the existing canopy structure. The City will seek guidance from the consultants to help provide direction on the most cost-effective way to complete the goals of this project.
