The work for the Sewer Manhole #46 Replacement Project includes removal and disposal of the existing sewer manhole and replacement with a new precast manhole. Additional improvements include, but are not limited to: temporary sewage bypass, removal and replacement of approximately 31 linear feet of 12" sewer main pipe, removal and replacement of approximately 13 linear feet of 10" sewer lateral pipe, selective demolition, temporary erosion and sediment control, and site restoration. The work to be completed is provided for in the Contract Documents. Within the bid form, the Base Bid contains all work excluding the manhole base support systems to prevent settling of the manhole. The Bid Additive schedule contains all work associated with two alternative support systems: a pre-cast sled support system; and a pin pile support system. The lowest responsible bidder will be selected based on the lowest Total Bid (i.e. the summation of the Base Bid and the Bid Additive) regardless of whether the Bid Additives are ultimately executed. The Bid Additive items for the pre-cast sled support system and the pin pile support system are mutually exclusive and only one system would be executed, if any. All bids shall be submitted, on the prescribed Bid Forms and in the manner stated, in this advertisement and in the Bid Document and said bids shall be accompanied by a bid deposit in the form of cash cashier's check, certified check, postal money order, or a surety bond to the City of Fife in the amount of five percent (5%) of the total amount of the bid.
