The City of Fife solicits statements of qualifications from professional engineering firms to provide engineering design services and obtain required permits for the City of Fife Citywide Safety Improvements Project. The consultant's work consists of preparing a preliminary engineering design to construct safety improvements with the intent of increasing pedestrian safety at road crossings. Specific tasks include: constructing a pedestrian crossing in the vicinity of 4411 Pacific Highway East, inclusive of a pedestrian signal and median refuge island; relocating an existing westbound bus stop to a location adjacent to the new pedestrian crossing; installing profiled centerline striping or milled rumble strips at specified locations; preparing environmental documentation and permit applications, including cultural resources review documentation; performing Right of Way planning, including maps and legal descriptions; and providing public outreach services. Qualification submissions are limited to no more than 10 double-sided pages, including a cover letter, on 8.5" x 11" sheets, with font size no smaller than 12 points for text and 8 points for charts or graphs. The City encourages disadvantaged, minority, and women-owned consultant firms to respond.
