Reference Number 0000404144 Bid Intent Not Available The Town of West Springfield, through its Department of Public Works - Water Division, is seeking bids from qualified vendors for the maintenance, inspection and chemical treatment of the water supply wells for the West Springfield Water Department. All bids for this project are subject to the provisions of M.G.L. Chapter 30, Section 39M, inclusive as amended. Minimum Wage Rates as determined by the Commissioner of the Department of Labor and Industries under the provision of the Massachusetts General Laws, Chapter 149, Sections 26 to 27H, as amended, apply to this project. Buyer Preferences, Guidelines & Requirements General Requirements - Bid Deposit Required - Certified Payroll - Insurance Required - Prevailing Wage Required Bonding Requirements - Bid Bond 5 % - Performance Bond 100 % - Payment Bond 100 % Each bid must be accompanied by a Bid Bond from a licensed surety company, or a Certified check, or a Treasurer's or Cashier's check in the amount of five (5%) percent of the base bid payable to the Town of West Springfield. A Payment bond and a performance bond in the amount of 100% of the Contract Price will be required of the Successful Bidder. The successful bidder will also be required to furnish workmen's compensation insurance and public liability insurance. All work shall be completed within 180 days from the date of signing the contract. A $500/day penalty charge will be assessed if the contractor does not meet the specified final completion date. Bids will remain firm for sixty (60) days following the opening of proposals. The contract shall be awarded by the Chief Procurement Officer, which reserves the right to waive any informalities, to accept or reject, in part or in whole, any and all proposals or to take whatever action may be deemed to be in the best interest of the Town of West Springfield.
