Sealed bids are invited for the construction of the Westfield High School Concession Stand. The work generally includes the construction of a 1,388 sq ft three-season building which will serve as concessions and provide restrooms to adjacent outdoor athletic facilities. The building will have slab on grade construction, masonry walls, and a wood truss roof system. Sub-bids, with required bid deposits, are requested for Electrical Work, Painting, HVAC, Plumbing, Masonry Work, and Roofing and Flashing. A 5% proposal guarantee is required. Minimum wage rates apply. Performance and Payment Bonds for 100% of contract value are required. All bidders must contact the specified city personnel to obtain plan sets. All questions must be submitted in writing to the City's Purchasing Director. The right is reserved to waive any informalities and/or reject any or all proposals or accept proposals deemed most satisfactory to the Owner if in the public interest. No proposal may be withdrawn for ninety days after bid opening. Attention is called to minimum wage rates as determined by the Commissioner of Labor and Industries under Massachusetts General Laws, Chapter 149, Sections 26 to 27G. No oral interpretations will be made to any bidder as to the meaning of the drawings and specifications.
