Renovation of a municipal facility in Elk Grove, California. Completed plans call for the renovation of a one-story above grade municipal facility.
Scope of Work: The Scope of Work shall be performed in accordance with the Contract, Supplemental Information, exhibits, Attachments, Plans, and other Contract documents. The proposed Work includes but is not limited to: removal and disposal of the existing monument signs and associated sign lighting at 8380, 8400, and 8401 Laguna Palms Way; restoration of landscaping areas at 8380 and 8400 Laguna Palms Way; fabrication and installation of monument signs at the newly designated locations on the properties at 8400 and 8401 Laguna Palms Way. Instructions to Bidders: Bid Security in the form of cash, cashier’s check, certified check, or electronic Bid Bond, executed on the prescribed form, in an amount not less than ten percent (10%) of the total bid price payable to the City of Elk Grove is required for each Bid submitted. The City must receive the Bid Security in the proper form in advance of the Bid due date and time. If an electronic Bid Bond is used, verification of an electronic Bid Bond issued by Surety2000 or SuretyWave, LLC must be uploaded to the City of Elk Grove Vendor Portal through PlanetBids before the Bid due date and time. Hard copy Bid Bonds will not be accepted. Bid Security received thereafter will likely result in rejection of the Bid Proposal for non-responsiveness. Additional required submissions include: BID PROPOSAL FORM, BIDDER'S CHECKLIST, EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS STATEMENT, and NONCOLLUSION AFFIDAVIT. Question Deadline 09/30/2025 at 5:00 PM PT The Scope of Work shall be performed in accordance with this Contract, Supplemental Information, Exhibits, Attachments, Plans and other Contract Documents. 2. The proposed Work includes, but is not limited to, the following: removal and disposal of the existing monument signs and associated sign lighting at 8380, 8400 and 8401 Laguna Palms Way; restoration of landscaping areas at 8380 and 8400 Laguna Palms Way; fabrication and installation of monument signs at the newly designated locations on the properties at 8400 and 8401 Laguna Palms Way. The Plans, with details specified are provided to the Contractor, which they shall in turn be used to create Shop Drawings consistent with those Plans to fabricate the sign. The Work shall consist of but not be limited to the following: a. Fabrication of the monument signs b. Removal and disposal of the existing monument signs and associated sign lighting at 8380, 8400, and 8401 Laguna Palms Way. c. Restoration and matching the surrounding landscaping areas at 8380 and 8400 Laguna Palms Way. d. Prepare angled location to receive the new sign including footing installation, and install fabricated monument sign at 8400 Laguna Palms Way monument sign location. e. Prepare the newly designated location to receive the new sign including footing installation, and install fabricated monument sign at proposed 8401 Laguna Palms Way monument sign location. f. Provide electrical power from the existing inground utility boxes to thuna Palms Way monument sign location. f. Provide electrical power from the existing inground utility boxes to the proposed illuminated monument signs, extending the utility boxes as needed. g. Adjust existing sprinkler heads to prevent water from contacting the newly constructed monument signs and modify irrigation drip lines as needed due to the impact of the new footings. h. Clearing and grubbing. 3. Contractor shall coordinate the use of the premises and access to Site under direction of the Engineer. Where space is required for temporary staging during the performance of Work, Contractor shall coordinate space requirements with the Engineer. 4. Contractor shall submit a sequencing schedule for the Work. It is anticipated for the order and fabrication of the monument signage to take fifty (50) Working Days. Schedule shall include but not be limited to the following: a. Start date. The Contractor shall begin the Work by the date indicated in the Notice to Proceed from the Engineer. The counting of Working Days shall begin within ten (10) Working Days from the date indicated in the Notice to Proceed or when the Contractor starts Work, whichever comes first, b. Submittal delivery dates of Shop Drawings, Samples, Graphic Layouts c. Order, fabrication and delivery of monument signage, d. All construction activities, i) Identify the start and end date for Order of Work, Clean-up, f. Punchlist activities, g. Completion date. h. Contractor shall provide a revised schedule if there are any changes to the scheduleor as requested by the Engineer. 5. Underground Service Alert (USA North) must be notified at least two (2) Working Days, but no earlier than fourteen (14) Calendar Days in advance of performing excavation Work as provided in Government Code Section 4216.2. The Contractor shall comply with all other applicable requirements specified in Article 2 of Division 5 of the Government Code, commencing with Section 4216. Refer to Section 6-16 of the Standard Construction Specifications for additional requirements. 6. The Contractor shall comply with the submittal requirements as set forth in SECTION 10 14 00 - SIGNAGE of the specifications and Section 5-8 "Contractor's Submittals," of the Standard Construction Specifications. 7. The Contractor shall remove and dispose of waste, surplus materials, trash/rubbish and similar items through the duration of construction and at the conclusion of the Project in accordance with the Section "7-20 Cleaning Up" of the Standard Construction Specifications and the Elk Grove Municipal Code Title 30 "Solid Waste Management". 8. The Contractor shall maintain and provide a set of Record Drawings to the City for review and approval prior to acceptance of the Work. Record Drawings shall conform to Section 11, "Record Drawings" of the Standard Construction Specifications. 9. Project Closeout: a. The Contractor shall review all Sections of these Project specifications and provide all required operations and maintenance manuals, and warranties to the Engineer prior to the release of final payment. b. Provide digital copies of all operations, maintenance, manuals, bonds and warranties in high resolution PDF Format, with one digital copy on a USB thumb drive.
