Site work for an industrial development in Red Bay, Alabama. Completed plans call for site work for a one-story above grade industrial development.
The work consists of providing labor, equipment, and material for site clearing on the Red Bay Industrial Park Site. This includes furnishing all labor, materials, tools, equipment, and services for all site clearing, tree protection, and stripping of topsoil. The contractor shall clear all shrubs, brush, downed timber, rotten wood, heavy growth of grass and weeds, rubbish, structures, and debris within the limits of construction. Stumps, roots, root mats, logs, and debris below the surface that are less than 3 feet in depth must be removed. Trees must not be smothered by stockpiling materials or excavated materials within the dripline. Foot or vehicular traffic or parking of vehicles within the tree dripline must be avoided. All waste, including trees, rubble, discarded junk, or other debris encountered within the limits of construction, must be removed from the site. On-site burning of cleared vegetation is permitted if done in compliance with local codes and regulations. The contract may be awarded to the lowest responsive bidder. TIME IS OF THE ESSENCE, with a contract time of 60 consecutive calendar days. Liquidated damages will be assessed if contract time is exceeded. The contractor may apply for an extension of time, which must be approved prior to the contract completion date to avoid the imposition of liquidated damages. The owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids, waive any informality in any bid, and accept any bid considered advantageous to the owner.
