Renovation of a municipal facility in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Conceptual plans call for the renovation of a municipal facility.

Reference Number 0000304281 Question Acceptance Deadline Oct 10, 2025 02:00 PM CDT Pricing Lump sum DBU24 Selkirk - The intent of this project is to complete exterior roof upgrades. The district office detachment is 1489 square meters. The exact requirements will need to be provided to BGIS by RCMP MB Asset Management. As per RCMP policy outlined in PMM 3.3 Building Standards and Guidelines ("Unclassified Version"), the Fit-Up Standards will be applied to all detachment construction, renovation, retrofit and rehabilitation projects. Roof B remains the primary area of concern due to recurring leaks despite having been replaced a few years prior. A detailed inspection of this section shall be undertaken to ascertain the root cause of the water infiltration and to develop recommendations aimed at preventing future leakage following replacement. The roof was replaced in 2022 as per our records. However, a separate contractor has advised BGIS that Roof Section B requires replacement again. A comprehensive inspection of the entire roofing system not limited to Section B should be conducted to accurately assess its condition and determine the appropriate course of action. DBU456 Pukatawagan & DBU371 The Pas - The intent of these projects is to replace the current flat, built-up roofs at the detachments with new. Based on the feedback and service requests BGIS has received, the roofs are in poor condition and are leaking. Additional info for these projects regarding the restructuring component needs to be requested from RCMP MB Asset Management. As per RCMP policy outlined in PMM 3.3 Building Standards and Guidelines (Unclassified Version), the Fit-Up Standards will be applied to all detachment construction, renovation, retrofit and rehabilitation projects. Projects should consider increasing the thermal performance of the roofs to meet the prescriptive thermal performance requirements of the applicable codes (ie. National Building Code, National Energy Code for Buildings). The consultant should review existing insulation and replace if required, also the client would like to have the Technical Investigation note if a repair is recommended rather than a full replacement, etc.. Investigate available utility incentive/rebate programs (ie. Efficiency Manitoba). A thorough inspection of the roofs will be carried out to identify the underlying cause of water infiltration and to develop recommendations for preventing future leaks after replacement. A full evaluation of the entire roofing system should also be performed to accurately determine its current condition and establish the necessary corrective measures. Official bid documents must be obtained from www.merx.com and bid submissions must be done through the Merx platform.
