Site work and paving for a road / highway in Stratford, New Jersey. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; and for paving for a road / highway.

This project involves Kirkwood Avenue to be reconstructed by means of full depth reconstruction between Yale Avenue and Cornell Avenue within the Borough of Stratford. BASE BID: KIRKWOOD AVENUE STA 20+66.54 TO STA 16+55.00 Kirkwood Avenue will be reconstructed by means of full depth reconstruction. Reconstruction involves excavating twelve inches (12) thick and reconstructing with six inches (6) of dense graded aggregate base course, four inches (4) of hot mix asphalt 19M64 base course, and two inches (2) of hot mix asphalt 9.5M64 surface course. In addition to the reconstruction of the existing roadway, there will be replacement of all driveway aprons. Concrete curb will be constructed along portions of Kirkwood Avenue as indicated on the plans. ADA accessible handicap ramps will be installed in accordance with NJDOT specifications. Traffic symbols will be installed as indicated on project plans. Manholes and inlets will be reset as required to accommodate grade changes. All inlet castings will be made bicycle safe and ecofriendly. Topsoil, fertilizer and seed will be placed at all disturbed areas. Keyways will be constructed to taper the roadway width and centerline profiles. Minority Participation 19% Women Participation 6.9% No interpretation of the meaning of any bid document will be made to any bidder orally. Any request for interpretation shall be in writing, addressed to Bach Associates and must be received at least ten (10) days prior to the date fixed for the opening of bids. Each Bid Shall Be Accompanied by a Certified Check, Cashier's Check or Bid Bond Duly Executed by the Bidder as Principal and Having as Surety Thereon a Surety Company Approved by the Borough of Stratford in an Amount Not Less Than Ten Percent (10%) but in No Case in Excess of $20,000.00 of the Amount Bid. Any Such Bid Bond Shall Be Without Endorsement or Conditions. Bid Shall Also Be Accompanied by a Certificate Letter From a Surety Company Stating That It Will Provide the Bidder With the Completion Bond. The Award of the Contract Shall Be Made Subject to the Necessary Moneys to Do the Work Being Provided by the Borough of Stratford in a Lawful Manner. The Contract to Be Executed by the Successful Bidder Will Provide That It Shall Not Become Effective Until the Necessary Moneys to Do the Work Have Been Provided by the Borough of Stratford in a Lawful Manner. The Award Shall Further Be Subjected to the Securing of Necessary State, Federal or Local Permits Governing the Work. The Right is Reserved to Reject Any or All Proposals, in Whole or in Part, or to Make Awards to Such Bidder or Bidders Who, in the Judgment of the Borough of Stratford, is the Lowest Responsible Bidder and to Waive Such Informalities as May Be Permitted by Law. Business Entities Are Advised of Their Responsibility to File an Annual Disclosure Statement of Political Contributions With the New Jersey Law Enforcement Commission (Elec) Pursuant to the Requirements of N.j.s.a. 19:44a-20.27 (New Jersey "pay-to-play" Law) if They Receive Contracts in Excess of $50,000 From Public Entities in a Calendar Year. Business Entities Are Responsible for Determining if Filing is Necessary. Payment Must Be Received Prior to Obtaining Said Specifications, Either by Mail or in Person. No Bids Are to Be Dropped Off at the Engineer's Office.
