Sealed bids are requested for the STREET LIGHTING PROJECT 3, which includes providing the labor, materials, and equipment necessary to test, remove, and replace existing faulty lamp post receptacles with weather rated GFCIs with in-use metal covers. The work involves receptacles located high on lampposts along Main Street in Washington, PA, between Walnut Street and Maiden Street. As of 2024, there are 70 faulty receptacles. Proposals must be submitted on forms provided by the City Engineer and accompanied by a certified check or bid bond for ten percent (10%) of the bid price. Bid packages are available for download at no cost or as hard copies for a fee. The bid envelope must be clearly marked STREET LIGHTING PROJECT 3. The City of Washington reserves the right to reject any or all bids. Compliance with the Pennsylvania Prevailing Wage Act 442 is required for projects exceeding $25,000. Performance, payment, and maintenance bonds are not required. Liquidated damages apply at $500.00 per calendar day. Bids may be held for up to sixty days for review and investigation of bidder qualifications before awarding the contract. Work shall be fully completed no later than December 24, 2025. It is the intent to prescribe a complete project which the Contractor undertakes to do, in full compliance with the Drawings, Specifications, Proposal and the Contract, including the furnishing of all supervision, technical personnel, labor, materials, machinery, tools, appurtenances, equipment, transportation, utility services, and all other means required to construct and complete construction.
