Site work and new construction of a water / sewer project in Meigs, Georgia. Completed plans call for site work for a one-story above grade water / sewer project.
The work consists of furnishing all labor, materials, and equipment necessary to construct a 200,000 gallon elevated water storage tank as shown on the construction drawings. The construction generally includes a multi-column elevated water storage tank, foundation, water main, fire hydrant, fencing, electrical, FAA obstruction lighting, and all other associated appurtenances required for a complete installation. Time allotted for completion of work is 270 consecutive calendar days to substantial completion, with contract close-out to be achieved within 300 consecutive calendar days. All work is to be completed in accordance with the plans and specifications. The project will be awarded under one contract. Any contractor submitting a bid must be a licensed Utility Contractor by the State of Georgia, with the license number displayed on the face of the bid envelope. Bidders may be required to provide satisfactory evidence of financial data, bonding capacity, prior experience, and current commitments prior to contract award. All bids must be accompanied by a Bid Bond or certified cashier's check in an amount not less than ten percent of the amount bid. The successful bidder will be required to provide a Performance Bond and Payment Bond, each in the amount of one hundred percent of the contract amount, issued by a surety company licensed in Georgia. The project is funded by a grant from the Georgia Environmental Finance Authority (GEFA), the Georgia Department of Community Affairs, and may use local Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax (SPLOST) funds. The project is subject to the Build America, Buy America Act (BABAA) requirements and all iron and steel used must be produced in the United States. Contractors and subcontractors must comply with the federal work authorization program (E-Verify) for employee eligibility, submitting an affidavit of compliance with the bid. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive informalities.
