The project consists of installing approximately 8,640 L.F. of 8" HDPE natural gas main, along KY 914 via open trench and directional bore installation methods and all other necessary appurtenances. Successful bidder must be OQ qualified for all required work at time bid is submitted and bid shall include OQ qualifications and welder certifications that may be required under API 1104, PHMSA, Somerset Gas Department's O&M manual, or other applicable regulatory agencies as required. Each Bidder must accompany their bid with a Bid Bond in amount of not less than five (5) percent of the base bid. No Bidder may withdraw his/her bid for a period of ninety (90) days after the scheduled Bid Opening Date. The Bidder awarded the contract shall execute a 100% Performance Bond and a 100% Payment Bond and shall furnish insurance as required, in the General Conditions. The project shall be completed within 90 calendar days after date of authorization to start work. Liquidated damages will be assessed at $500 per calendar day. Any bid that is obviously unbalanced may be rejected. The City of Somerset reserves the right to reject any and all bids and waive informalities. All questions about the meaning or intent of the Bidding Documents are to be submitted to Engineer in writing. Interpretations or clarifications considered necessary by Engineer in response to such questions will be issued by Addenda mailed or delivered to all parties recorded by Engineer as having received the Bidding Documents. Questions received less than five days prior to the date for opening of Bids may not be answered
