Pre-Bid/Proposal Conference: N/A PROJECT DESCRIPTION The Hope DeSoto Long Term Recovery Group, Inc., in coordination with DeSoto County, is seeking rebid proposals from qualified contractors to provide labor, materials, equipment, and services necessary for the construction of a 40-foot by 50-foot metal storage building at the above-referenced location. The project was previously bid and significantly overbudget, therefore a decision was made to cancel revise the scope and rebid the project. This rebid is intended to clearly define responsibilities between the Contractor and the County, including the County's intent to directly purchase certain materials. CONTRACTOR SCOPE OF WORK The Contractor shall furnish all labor, supervision, equipment, and materials necessary to complete the following: 1. Permitting and Coordination o Obtain all required building permits, excluding permit fees paid directly by the County. o Coordinate with DeSoto County personnel regarding work sequencing, inspections, trades, and County-provided items. 2. Site and Foundation Work o Layout the building footprint and foundation pad. o Design and engineer a concrete slab suitable for a 40' x 50' metal building in accordance with applicable codes. o Provide compaction testing and soil pre-treatment. o Excavate footers; form, pour, and finish the concrete slab. 3. Metal Building Erection o Erect a 40' x 50' metal building, including: Vinyl-backed ceiling insulation (ceiling only) Two (2) manual chain hoist 14' x 10' roll-up doors One (1) man door One (1) solar-powered light o Include all labor, equipment, and incidental materials required for erection. 4. Building Procurement (Base Bid with Deductive Option) o The base bid shall include the cost of the metal building and all associated expenses, including delivery, unloading, and unpackaging. o The County intends to utilize a direct purchasing option for the metal building. o Bidders shall clearly identify the separate cost of the metal building in their proposal to allow for a deductive change order if the County elects to purchase the building directly. 5. Site Restoration o Install sod around the perimeter of the building, extending up to ten (10) feet from the structure. WORK BY COUNTY (EXCLUDED FROM CONTRACTOR SCOPE) The following items will be provided by DeSoto County and shall be excluded from the Contractor's bid price: o Payment of permit fees (estimated at $1,500) o Grading and provision of fill dirt to build the pad o Construction of driveway access to the building o Unloading of the metal building upon delivery, the County has elected direct purchase so the contractor must work with the County on this to coordinate. The proposal shall separately identify the cost of the metal building (excluding tax) for deductive change order purposes. Project schedule shall be included with the rebid proposal.
