Renovation of an educational facility in Ankeny, Iowa. Completed plans call for the renovation of a one-story above grade educational facility.

Project consists of the combined construction of all work included in the Construction Documents, including but not limited to removal and replacement of existing mechanical equipment, removal and replacement of existing light fixtures with new LED fixtures, and all associated architectural modifications necessary to support the equipment improvements. Bids must be a lump sum basis for a single Combined Construction Contract as described in the specifications. Bids must be submitted on the approved bid form available in the Bidding Documents. No oral, facsimile, electronic, or telephonic bids or modifications will be considered. Each bidder shall accompany its bid with bid security in a separate, sealed envelope as defined in Iowa Code Section 26.8, as security that the successful Bidder will enter into a Contract and furnish within ten (10) days after the award of Contract a corporate Surety Bond, for the faithful performance of the Contract, in an amount equal to 100% of the amount of the Contract. Bidder's security shall be in an amount equal to 5% of the bid and may be in the form of a cashiers check, certified check, certified share draft, or a Bid Bond with corporate Surety. The bid shall contain no condition except as provided in the specifications. Bid security shall be made payable to Ankeny Community School District. The successful Bidder must also provide within ten (10) days of the award proof of insurance and a Performance Bond and Labor and Material Payment Bond both in an amount equal to 100% of the Contract Price. Failure to provide such bonds or enter into a Contract may result in the retention of the bidders security as liquidated damages. No bidder may withdraw its bid for sixty (60) calendar days after the bid opening. The Board of Education reserves the right to reject any or all bids, or any part thereof, and to waive informalities as allowed by law. Minority and Targeted Small Business participation is encouraged. Bidders shall make a good faith documented effort to encourage the participation of Certified Iowa Targeted Small Business in accordance with the Code of Iowa. Preference will be given to Iowa products and provisions, and in-state bidders will receive a preference equal to that allowed by the home state of any nonresident bidder. Failure to submit a fully completed Bidder Status Form with the bid may result in the bid being deemed nonresponsive and rejected. All bids are governed by the applicable provisions in the Iowa Code and Ankeny Community School District Board Policies.
