Sealed proposals will be received for furnishing all labor, materials, use of contractor's equipment, plant, and all else necessary to construct properly all improvements within "The Hill Sanitary Sewer - Section 5." The extent of the work includes construction or effectuation of the following: mobilization/demobilization, installation of construction entrance, aggregate bedding for 6" and 8" sanitary sewer pipe, construction of 6" and 8" PVC sanitary sewer pipes (including 8" pipe with greater than 17' cover), construction of 6" x 8" wye, 6" and 8" sanitary sewer manhole taps, 6" sanitary sewer risers, 54" I.D. sanitary manholes, furnishing external frame seals for manholes, installing geotextile fabric where necessary, aggregate bedding and foundation rock for trench stabilization where necessary, trench excavation where necessary, and removing/replacing 7" PCC pavement. The estimated quantities and engineer's estimate of construction are given. All work is to be performed in strict accordance with the provided drawings and specifications. Each bid must be accompanied in a separate sealed envelope by a certified check or a bid bond in the amount of $38,500.00 as evidence of good faith and as agreed upon liquidated damages if the accepted bidder fails to enter into contract within ten days after Notice of Award and furnish an acceptable bond for 100% of the total bid price. Bidders may not withdraw their proposal for thirty days after bid opening. Bids will only be accepted from those listed on the plan holders lists at the specified locations. All costs associated with obtaining documents are the responsibility of the bidder and non-refundable. The District reserves the right to waive formalities and to reject all or any bids.
